CAPTAIN'S FISHING REPORT

2002 SEASON

11-17-02 Our final trips of the season found blues and small stripers on chunk baits. On Election Day, a group of engineers from Verizon took home bluefish filets with Kevin the "I-Man" again taking "High Hook" honors as he did on their previous excursion. That about wraps it up for this year. All and all with the exception of some very windy weekends in October, we had another very productive season. On behalf of our crew and I we would like to thank all who rode with us this year. Have a great winter and Happy Hoildays. We hope to see you all again in the spring. Just a quick commercial note, our first scheduled trip for 2003 is Saturday, April 5, 2003, if the Good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise. It is never too early to book a trip. Remember Christmas is coming. Take care. BHH ---- 11-03-02 This week's highlights were on Blazer Pub trip III, when a new "A" team was crowned made up of Tommy "The Cell", Bobby "Blueshirt", Billy "Blacktop", and pool winner Frank "The Mad Bomber". This find group of fishermen took home 26 blues on their half day trip. Tommy "The Cell" also took the first fish prize and caught a 4 foot Sand shark for good measure.10-25-02 Chunking for blues and bass continues to be the best bet. The heavy wind conditions have not helped matters of late. However, when we can get out there are some large fish around. The Brendan Kehoe party had a 16.2 pound blue come over the rail last Thursday evening. That fish presently holds heaviest bluefish of the season honors. We still have some open dates if you would like to get in some action before the winter sets in. 10-10-02 Bluefishing has been outstanding the last week or two. The Anthony Isabella party took home 35 blues up to 10 pounds. To top off the day, a 7.7 pound fluke came over the rail (largest of the year thus far). The Don Hopko party took home 25 blues. Tom Hunt took high hook honors with Bruce taking the pool with around a 9 pounder. If you like a challenge and a good battling fish, come out and try these large blues. Pound for pound they are the toughest fish around. Give us a call and come out and join the fun. The season is winding down, don't miss out on this hot action.

Remember keep what you can use and release the rest.
